What an amazing place to have right here in Kailua- it has a wonderfully eclectic mix of vintage military models and memorabilia from shows like XFiles, Star Trek, Alias etc. Great selection of vintage comics, records and even some cool shirts. The owner is great and a joy to talk to. Prices are almost unbelievably reasonable. An absolute treasure trove of a store and I am so glad that places like this still exist.

Love this store! It’s like going back to my childhood. I’ve bought little things like clock kits to make clocks out of ordinary things. This store has been in Kailua for as long as I can remember (I’m 34). One of the last original Kailua businesses left.

This is the worst store. I won't call it a hobby store. No up to date paint or accessories. Kits are old and dusty, mostly comic books and miscellaneous junk. I wouldn't waste the gas driving to this store. When I walked in, I thought they were having a going out of business sale because the shelves were bare. Might be a good idea.

This is a great little shop. It’s more of a collectible shop than a model shop I’d say. Many older discontinued military and sci fi models, some fairly rare. Speaking to owner was fun, like what a comic shop used to be like where fans could meet and talk all things under nerddom. He says he buys collections so depending on what ones are on the shelf, I imagine stock can be hit or miss. Not a huge selection of painting supplies.

This is the ONLY independently owned family run hobby shop left on the island of Oahu, if not the entire state of Hawaii. If you're looking a slick and glossy department store where the selection of models and paints are sparse and the staff knows nothing about the merchandise, go to Walmart. But if you want a store stocked with more merchandise than shelf space, run by a man with a vast knowledge of the products he sells and will gladly share it; then Weller's Hobbycraft is the place for you. The stock of models appears to be mostly cars and military planes, ships and vehicles, but also has several science fiction kits, including some classic out of production kits. If they don't have it, and it's available, the owner will special order it for you. Weller's also has collections of out of print collector and special interest magazines that have been kept in good condition. I also saw jigsaw puzzles and old model rocket kits. There is even a rack of vintage shirts and collectibles featuring classic rock bands. There were a few craft supplies available, but when I asked the clerk told me they stopped carrying those items and what's available is whatever they have left. If you like t
